ChargeMap is a service that localizes charging stations and other plug-in opportunities for electric car users. The information can be accessed on our website or via our mobile phone application. It will be constantly updated by the ChargeMap community.
The electric car is an opportunity to reduce our dependency on oil. It will also reduce the cars’ impact on the environment, specifically in terms of air quality and noise.
However, the performances of these new vehicles are still limited by the capacity of their batteries, and their maximum range is about 150 km. Even if this is sufficient for most of the daily needs of an average driver, “range anxiety” is a common fear for potential electric car owners.
ChargeMap is a response to this "range anxiety". By allowing electric car drivers to see where the closest charging opportunity is, we hope to contribute to the development of the use of electric vehicles.
